Senior Staff Accountant | Hybrid in NYC
CFS is partnering with a national nonprofit organization named one of the Top 50 Nonprofits to Work For to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for their NYC-based finance team. This role offers a rare blend of mission-driven work, technical depth, and strong career visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting
-
Manage intercompany reconciliations, bank recs, and fund transfers

Support budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and explanations for leadership

Oversee project time tracking allocations across subsidiaries

Ensure revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606) and participate in contract review

Assist with audits, general ledger maintenance, and T&E reporting (Ramp)

Provide oversight and support to bookkeepers on daily transactions and reconciliations

Maintain balance sheet accounts, prepaids, accruals, and detailed backup
What We’re Looking For:
-
Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field
-
5+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting or financial analysis

Familiarity with ASC 606 and/or ASC 842 is a plus
-
Strong Excel skills and comfort navigating reconciliations and financial systems
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid setting
